aged children are injured in road accidents and tragically 8 children lost
their lives in NSW this year alone.
The most typical comment we hear from drivers is,
“I just didn’t see them!”
With the approval of the Department
of Education, Transport for NSW and
officially launched by The NSW
Premier, the Honourable Barry O’Farrell, Harlequin
School Bags', Hi-Viz Kids™ is a national children's Road Safety
Initiative. The initiative's purpose is to eradicate road accidents and fatalities
of school children when they are travelling to and from school.
Currently we are bound by OH&S legislation for our adult roadwork crews, postal workers, emergency services and not least of all our well loved 'Lollypop' men and women, who are all required to wear Hi-Viz clothing to enhance their visibility and safety to road users. So why do we continue to send our most vulnerable, at risk Kindergarten students to school every day, wearing dark coloured uniforms?
Harlequin’s Hi-Viz Kids™ safety initiative will bring about a change to the way road users ‘view’ and 'see' our children.
